2. Regularly Exercise.

You already know that exercise is important. It keeps your body strong and healthy. However, regular exercise can also keep your memory - whatever age you have. In fact, working three to four times a week really thought to enhance its role as global memory. How? Exercise increases oxygen and nutrients to your body. Yes, walking, jogging, or doing some other type of physical activity, you can keep your memory - and even better.

3. Learn New Things.

So take the time to learn something new. I just read the newspaper, take a different route to work, or do a crossword puzzle every day. These activities can force your brain to think a little differently ... that can benefit your memory.

4. Use Your Senses.

Nothing like using all your senses. Touch, taste, smell, sight and sound are all essential components to keep your brain working properly. The more senses you use your brain more engaged. This is a great thing when it comes to keeping your memory! When using multiple directions at once, in fact, can help you better retain the information. How can you do this? Look at the pictures as you read. Or listen to an audio book you read along. There are so many ways to engage your senses. This is to be creative and keep your brain as active as possible.

5. Get Enough Sleep.

Most of us are running on empty day. This can make it difficult to get through all of our daily tasks. However, it can also affect your memory. To function properly, the brain needs sleep. While lack of sleep can make you cranky and irritable, it can also increase the risk of developing dementia related diseases. In order to stay healthy and keep your memory in top shape, have a strict schedule of sleep and take naps when necessary. It is not only benefit you in your day to day life, but in the long term as well.
