Pioneers Festival in Vienna today, a startup called Slovak Airmobile unveiled what we all dream since I saw the first episode of the Jetsons while wearing layers:

The flying car.

It's here. This is real. And it is spectacular.

The company unveiled Airmobile 3.0, the latest version of its flying car has been in development for nearly 25 years.

"We believe that personal transportation is about to change forever," said CEO Juraj Vaculik Airmobile at a press conference. "We think it's time to do more emotional and personal transportation."

The car was designed by Stefan Klein, founder and head of the Department of Transportation Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Slovakia. Klein had been toying with the idea as to 1989.

In 2010, he partnered with Vaculik Airmobile to begin marketing the project. In 2013, a prototype of the previous car has been certified by the FAA in Slovakia for use in this country. The latest prototype is being tested for certification in Slovakia and the company says it is close to being marketed.

The company wants to use the latest version of start marketing the product. Of course, they believe that passengers would get their hands on. But on a larger scale, the flying car aimed at developing markets with minimal infrastructure such as roads, highways or airports.

The car has very little runway for takeoff, and can be refueled in a standard gas station when the flaps are retracted. Airmobile believed to be attractive for countries that do not have billions of dollars to spend building a modern transport infrastructure.

The body is constructed from advanced composite materials that prevent light but durable. Under the hood, has an autopilot system deployment and advanced parachute. The passenger can carry two people and in the air flying car can reach a top speed of 200 km / h. It has a wingspan of 27 meters and 19.7 meters long.
