
Pop singer Katy Perry will headline the halftime of the Super Bowl entertainment s in February, the American sporting event and the most watched television, according to an announcement by the National Football League on Sunday.
The 30-year-old singer "Roar" joins the likes of Madonna, Beyonce and Prince to perform at the NFL Super Bowl halftime show s, which usually attracts more viewers than the average for the championship game itself.

The Super Bowl will be played on February 1 in Glendale, Arizona, and transmitted by the network owned by Comcast Corp NBC.
